BSN mendorong SNI bahan bangunan untuk mencegah kecelakaan di sekolah
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Badan Standardisasi Nasional (BSN) mendorong penerapan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) bahan bangunan untuk mencegah kecelakaan konstruksi atau runtuhnya bangunan seperti yang terjadi di SMPN 2 Greged, Kecamatan Greged, Kabupaten Cirebon, Jawa Barat .“Potensi terjadinya kecelakaan dapat dicegah dengan mengedepankan penggunaan produk yang aman dan berkualitas. Selain produk yang digunakan ber-SNI, kami juga mendorong produsen untuk memproduksi bahan bangunan yang ramah lingkungan sehingga jika digunakan pada gedung sekolah dapat menunjang aspek kesehatan, kata Kepala BSN Kukuh S. Achmad di Jakarta, Selasa.
Kukuh mengutip data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), masih banyak ruang kelas sekolah di Indonesia yang rusak. Berdasarkan data BPS, ruang kelas yang mengalami peningkatan kerusakan tertinggi berada di tingkat sekolah dasar.
Berdasarkan data tersebut, terdapat 60,60 persen ruang kelas SD dalam kondisi rusak ringan hingga sedang pada tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Angka tersebut lebih tinggi 3,47 persen dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya yang sebesar 57,13 persen, ujarnya. .
Menurutnya, gedung sekolah sangat penting sebagai tempat menimba ilmu bagi generasi penerus bangsa, sehingga perlu adanya jaminan keamanan dalam rangka penggunaan bahan bangunan dan tata cara pembangunan yang harus sesuai standar.
Sedangkan BSN sendiri telah menetapkan 15.192 SNI. Dari jumlah tersebut, sebanyak 440 SNI terkait bahan bangunan, dan 42 SNI yang diberlakukan secara wajib.
“Pembangunan suatu bangunan seperti rumah, sekolah atau gedung perlu memperhatikan aspek standarisasi, karena jika tidak maka akan berdampak pada keamanan dan keselamatan, seperti resiko bangunan runtuh dan rusak yang dapat melukai orang. di sekitar gedung,” ujarnya.
Kukuh melanjutkan, ada beberapa jenis bahan bangunan terpenting yang harus diketahui dalam konstruksi bangunan. Bahkan ada yang sudah mendapat SNI, bahkan ada yang wajib.
Sebanyak 440 SNI terkait bahan bangunan yang telah ditetapkan BSN antara lain semen, batu bata, baja, pipa, keramik, kaca, cat, ubin, paku dan bahan lainnya.
